Recipes must be submitted online at www.FlipsidePA.com or mailed to: York Newspaper Company, c/o Cookie Contest, 1891 Loucks Rd, York, PA 17408.
All mailed-in recipes are subject to a $5.00 fee, which will be donated to the Christmas Emergency Fund. Mailed-in recipes must be on an official Cookie Contest entry form, available for pick-up at the York Newspaper Company.
Limit of 3 entries per person; no more than one recipe per category. All entries become the property of MediaOnePA. Entries must be received by Monday, November 12th at midnight.
You must be 18 or older to enter.
Staff members of MediaOnePA will select 10 finalists in each category. Finalists will be notified by phone no later than Wednesday, November 14th. A follow-up letter will be sent to all finalists.
Finalists must bring one dozen cookies to the judging location (Kennie's Markets, located at 440 N. Main St, Spring Grove, PA 17362), on Thursday, November 29, time TBA. Finalists must sign an affidavit verifying the cookies were baked using the submitted recipe. If finalist cannot attend the event, MediaOnePA must be notified immediately.
A first-, second-, and third-place winner will be chosen from each category based on taste, appearance, and baking skill. All decisions of the judges will be final.
The 2012 Holiday Cookie Special Section featuring the finalists' recipes will appear in the York Daily Record and The York Dispatch on Wednesday, December 5th.
Contest not open to food professionals or employees of the York Daily Record/Sunday News, The York Dispatch, MediaOnePA, and/or their immediate families.
Each finalist will be required to sign a release giving MediaOnePA and its agents full rights to use the finalist's name, likeness and recipe for Holiday Cookie Contest-related advertising and publicity.
