"Each registered bride is eligible for a door prize," said Hans Schreiber, director of sales and marketing at the Gettysburg Wyndham. "Each vendor then donates a product, anywhere from a free gift certificate to a percentage off its services."
Cecelia's Bridals of Westminster, Maryland will headline the showcase with a fashion show to display its wedding gowns, bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride dresses.
"We will be bringing the latest dresses to the show, as well as some of our new 2013 dresses," said Mary Till, owner of Cecelia's Bridals.
Among those latest dress trends will be mermaid and ruffled gowns, which Till said, have been very popular lately.
"Of course we will also bring some of our more traditional dresses," Till said. "We will have a variety."
Cecelia's Bridals also tries to keep its dresses affordable, with its most expensive dresses costing no more than $1,500.
Other than choosing a dress, planning a wedding comes with a dizzying array of decisions that must be made, and the showcase is designed to make them simpler. By packing in so many different vendors into one location, the process of selecting a dress, disc jockey, and even manicure style can be streamlined.
"We even have people there who help to plan honeymoons," Schreiber said.
