Halestorm got its start in the region around York County, and Lzzy and Arejay Hale lived in Red Lion at one time. Many of the band's gigs in early years were at venues around York. The band signed with Atlantic Records in 2005 and since continued to take off, including a 2013 Grammy for hard rock/metal performance.

Brief history of the band
1997: 13-year-old Lzzy Hale decides to start a band with her brother, Arejay. Later, when Lzzy was 15 and Arejay 13, they played their first bar gig in Harrisburg. During the next decade, Halestorm played locally and regionally, booking up to 200 gigs a year 2003: Lzzy and Arejay relocate to Red Lion
2004: Joe Hottinger and Josh Smith join the band on guitar and bass, respectively. June 2005: Halestorm signed with Atlantic Records April 2006: Halestorm releases its first EP "One and Done" April 2009: Halestorm releases its first full-length album, "Halestorm." 2010-2012: Halestorm releases two EPs and a live album. April 2012: Halestorm releases its second full-length album, "The Strange Case of..." The album hit No. 1 on Billboard's hard rock albums chart. December 2012: Halestorm receives its first Grammy nomination for hard rock/metal performance. Feb. 10, 2013: Halestorm receives its first Grammy award.
