Behind the scenes at YWCA York Synchro-ettes' "The Little Mermaid

YWCA York Synchro-ettes Zoe Schneider, 10, center, and Alexa Alhadeff, 11, play with pens and tablets for after-show autographs following a synchronized-swimming production of "The Little Mermaid" on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at the YWCA York. The water show, which had three showtimes each on Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, was the YWCA York Synchro-ettes' 33rd annual storyline-based show in the team's 43-year history. "Instead of inviting people to come see what we do in competition, we thought it'd be fun to do a story," said Robin Weist, who has coached the team since 1975. "Nobody else that I know of does shows like we do." Each show means countless hours put in by the team and coaches towards rehearsal and by the parents towards working on sets, costumes, makeup and backstage logistics.
