Grammy-award winning violinist John Eaken will be performing in a free concert at the Codorus State Park Bandshell at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16.
Eakin, concertmaster of the York Symphony Orchestra and leader of the Eaken Piano Trio, will perform Variations on "Yankee Doodle," accompanied by the South Western High School chamber orchestra, and the first movement of the Mendelssohn "Violin Concerto," accompanied by the Mustang Symphony Orchestra.
South Western High School cellist Scott Kuntz, a member of the Pennsylvania All-State Orchestra, will also be featured in a performance of "Schindler's List."
Other pieces on the program include songs from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Radioactive," by Imagine Dragons.

Steam Engine and Tractor Show
WILLIAMS GROVE >> Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association will host a Steam Engine and Tractor Show on Friday, May 16, through Sunday, May 18, at Williams Grove Steam Engine Show Grounds, Williams Grove Road.
The event will include steam traction engines, an old PRR steam train, antique tractors, working saw mill, model train exhibit and food.
Tractor Pulls will begin at 7 p.m. on May 16. Consignment Sale will be held 8 a.m. May 17. Car Show will be 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 18.
Farmers Flea Market will be held sunrise to 2 p.m. on May 18 with more than 500 vendors, weather permitting.
Black Rose All-Stars schedule game
HANOVER >> The Black Rose All-Stars, Hanover's women's flat track roller derby league, will be playing against the Philly Roller Girls on Sunday, May 18, at Magic Elm Skateland, 625 W. Elm Ave.
Doors open at 5 p.m., game starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance at blackroserollers.com/tickets or $7 at the door.
The after-party will be held at The Winner's Circle Lounge on East Walnut Street in Hanover.
A portion of the proceeds goes to Sweet Charities of Hanover and Still Waters: The Jane Rice Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence.
Village Brass to offer musical tour
NEW OXFORD >> The Village Brass ensemble, with guest mezzo soprano soloist Jeanie Mummert, will present "It's a Small World: 15 Countries in 60 Minutes (more or less)" 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, in Nicarry Meetinghouse at Cross Keys Village.
It's "an all-expense paid tour" of the musical world. Mummert, a professional soloist with teaching studios in Hanover and Gettysburg, will perform "Arirang" (a Korean folk song), "Waters Ripple and Flow" (a Czecho-Slovak folk song) and "Deep River" (an African-American spiritual).
Cross Keys Villagers Mary Ellen and Jim Waters will provide accompanying dancing on some pieces.
The free, public program is under the direction of Roger L. Parcels, retired Gettysburg schools band director who is founder and director of the Village Brass, whose members all live at Cross Keys Village.

Chamber Music On The Hill concert
WESTMINSTER, MD >> Pianist Nancy Roldán and violinist José Cueto will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 17, in Baker Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill.
They will perform works by Turina, Beethoven, Poulenc and Piazzola.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and veterans, and free for children, as well as students with valid ID.
Band to present 75th anniversary concert
Westminster, Md. >> The William F. Myers' Sons Band from Westminster, Md., under the direction of Ben Messinger, Glenn Patterson and Richard Humbert will present a 75th Anniversary Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main St.
Selections for the concert represent the time periods of the band and they include "Diamond Jubilee," "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America."
Donations will be accepted.
Emmitsburg Community Chorus Spring Concert
THURMONT, Md. >> The Emmitsburg Community Chorus plans to present its annual Spring Concert 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Apples Church, 7908 Apples Church Road.
The 2014 Spring Concert will feature songs of Disney and patriotism.
The Emmitsburg Community Chorus Concerts under the direction of Peggy Burrier Flickinger and Pianist Lisa Mattia since 2007 are made possible through grants from the Frederick Arts Council.
Devolver plans Reunion Show
HANOVER >> The band Devolver is planning its 15th Anniversary Show for 9 p.m. on Saturday May 24, at The Winner's Circle, 5 East Walnut St.
This will be the band's first reunion as a 5-piece since December 2001. The band formed in Hanover in the late '90s and played until 2002.
