Codorus CruiseLine

Band: Codorus CruiseLine

Members: Brady Henry (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Sean Deibert (bass, vocals), Jeremy Schlosser (drums)

Who we talked to: Henry

Where'd the name come from? The bass player and I live along the creek, and we take canoes out there sometimes. We take a couple of beers, and it's kind of like a cruise line. We thought that sounded kind of funny. A lot of the time we just go by the CCL because a lot of people don't know what the Codorus is.

Who are your influences? The drummer is into funky kind of stuff. The bass player likes the Beatles. Myself, I'm a big Stevie Ray Vaughan fan. I don't really sound like any of my influences, though. It's all about a good stage show for us. We've got a pretty good stage show and have some pretty good music.

Last three albums you listened to? Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society. And I've been listening to a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Our bass player listens to a lot of 311. Our drummer listens to Nickelback and Pearl Jam.

Worst artist on the radio right now? Linkin Park. It just sounds really overproduced. There's too much stuff going on. I'm into hip-hop but I'm not really into their hip-hop rock 'n' roll.

Who is one of your favorite artists that would surprise most people who know you? Probably Lionel Richie. You know, "Easy" by the Commodores.

Who would win in a fight: Lionel Richie or Stevie Ray Vaughan? Stevie Ray Vaughan would kick his ass. Stevie's got a lot of passion and a lot of soul. It's just in him. I kind of learned like he did. He never took any lessons, and I just picked it up when I graduated high school. I just have a spark in me that keeps going.

What songs do you or would you like to cover? We love to play "White Room" by Cream. That's a great song, but it's also in the way we play it. We don't change it, but it might be a little louder. I think we might just step it up a notch, not to say anything against Cream.

Best local places to play? We just played the Chameleon Club (in Lancaster). That was really great. We were an original band playing between two cover acts, and I think we got the biggest response. I think we had more energy than the other bands. People can tell we mean it when we play it. We play Tourist Inn (in Hellam Township) a lot. And Murph's Other Bar (in York) is a nice place to play. A lot of places don't even call me back because we're new and original. It's frustrating. We could play any venue in this area.
