3 Baltimore area events worth a drive this November

Charm City Fringe Festival, Nov. 8-15

This event, which celebrates theater and performing arts, has doubled in size this year. Performers include 25 theater companies, 20 plus bands and comics. They hail from Baltimore, New York, Chicago, Minneapolis and other large cities. One of the shows — "Feel the Power of the Dork Side" by Doctor Pete Productions LLC of Marietta, Ga. — takes a look at technology and science, according to the nonprofit organization.

Patrons need to buy a $5 festival button to attend the performances in Station North Arts & Entertainment District, Mount Vernon, and Hampden. Tickets for each production are $10, according to the news release. Details here.

Festival of Trees, Nov. 27-29

Head to a 3-day celebration of fairyland forests, gingerbread towns and toy trains. Billed as the East Coast’s largest holiday extravaganza, Timonium’s Festival of Trees is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 27-28 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Shop more than 100 craft  boutiques and enjoy live holiday performances daily.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for kids. Details here.

Holiday Bazaar & Tea at the Cloisters, Nov. 27

Skip the malls this Black Friday and instead do your holiday shopping inside the historic Cloisters castle, where Maryland crafters will be selling items Nov. 27. The Holiday Bazaar and Tea is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 10440 Falls Road, Lutherville-Timonium. Children can participate in a free art workshop where they can make holiday gifts and decorations. Free to attend, but the cost of tea is $20.
