Council for the Arts hosts IceFest displays


CHAMBERSBURG - The Council for the Arts of Chambersburg will hold exhibitions in two locations during Chambersburg’s IceFest 2016, with blown/ contemporary glass by regional artists at the council's new 81 N. Main St. location, and "Corks & Canvas” and elementary school artworks at its 159 S. Main St. location.

IceFest hours for the shows will be 5-8 p.m.Thursday, Jan. 28; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Jan.29, and Saturday, Jan.30; and noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31.

The “Corks & Canvas” paintings will be available by silent auction, with the bidding closing at 4 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 30. The elementary art display is part of Chambersburg Area School District elementary art teacher Erin Gillespie’s exhibition of approximately 500 mixed media, watercolor, pastel and collage artworks by students in grades K-5 at Scotland and Grandview elementary schools, to be displayed throughout downtown Chambersburg businesses during IceFest.
