WAYNESBORO- Destination ARTS! activities for the Feb. 19-21 weekend in Waynesboro include art exhibits and special events scheduled at Gallery 50 (50 W. Main St.), 42 West ARTS (42 W. Main St.), Through the Lens & Beyond (38 W. Main St.) and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 S. Church St.)

Thursday, Feb. 18

Gallery 50's Curator/Director Marjorie Tressler will present her weekly oil painting demonstrations from 2-4 p.m. featuring a large landscape. Tressler teaches art locally and has conducted classes at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where her portraits were featured  in a solo show in 1993. She is a former student of the Schuler School of Fine arts and has studied with several nationally known and prominent local artists over the last 35 years.

Friday, Feb. 19

Wine Down Friday activities and receptions are planned for 5-8 p.m.at Gallery 50, 42 West ARTS Co-Op, Through the Lens & Beyond, and the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro.

Irish music from Across the Pond will be featured in Gallery 50 from 5:30 -8 p.m.  “The most booked Celtic band in Central Pennsylvania” features Michael Morrison (guitar, mandolin, flue and vocals), Chuck Krepley (fiddle, banjo, vocals) and Dan Diviney (whistles, bodhran, vocals).  All members of the trio are passionate about their traditional roots but say their music is also delivered with a modern edge, with a repertoire ranging from hauntingly slow aires to high energy jig and reels, love ballads and contemporary songs.

Also in Gallery 50, David Buckley Good will be on hand to talk about his paintings, which are currently being featured in the gallery. Good is a master landscape artist who has shown his work in many major cities. At the invitation of Les Amis de la Grande Vigne, he lived and worked as artist in residence in the medieval city of Dinan, France, in Octover 2001.He is a teacher at the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore and studied at the Arts Student League in New York City.

Patric Schlee will be creating original improvisational music on flute and drums at 42 West ARTS Co-Op.  The public is invited to join in.

Saturday, Feb. 20

Galleries will be open noon- 6 p.m.

Laura Lewis Shindle will demonstrate oil painting at 42 West Arts Co-op  from 1-3 p.m.  Born and raised in  Hagerstown, Maryland, Shindle studied art at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Her work includes watercolors, oils, pen and ink, printmaking and more. Her studio is in the Greencastle area where she teaches and does commission work.

Sunday, Feb. 21

Galleries will be open from 1-4 p.m.
