Cinderella will meet her prince, Jean Valjean will seek redemption and Frank Abaganale Jr. will fool dozens of people in this year's slate of high school musicals and plays in Hanover and Adams County.
The area's winter and spring high school theater season opens Thursday with the first performance of "The Odd Couple" at Littlestown Senior High School.

Production: Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella"
Synopsis: Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella" is a contemporary take on the classic fairy tale with a script that retells the story of Cinderella in new and unexpected ways.

Delone Catholic High School
Production: "Anne of Green Gables"
Synopsis: Anne, a 12-year-old who is adopted by an elderly couple, is a precocious young lady who has a hard time keeping her mouth shut. She matures into a bright, young adult who learns of love and romance.

Production: "The Little Mermaid Jr."
Synopsis: Based on the Disney classic, "The Little Mermaid Jr." is an enchanting look at the sacrifices people make for love and acceptance. In a magical underwater kingdom, young mermaid Ariel yearns to leave her ocean home - and her fins - behind and live in the world above the sea.

Production: "Catch Me If You Can," the musical
Synopsis: Follow the true story of Frank Abaganale Jr., who, as a teenager, posed as an airline pilot, doctor and prosecutor, all while bilking people for millions of dollars.

Synopsis: With her husband having just left her, the neat and organized Florence Unger moves in with her messy and relaxed friend Olive Madison, which makes tensions run high as this "couple" tries to live together despite their differences.

Production: "Les Miserables," the school edition
Synopsis: In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter.

Synopsis: An ugly duckling judged by the other animals leaves the farm to do some soul-searching and comes face-to-face with a hungry cat before meeting a group of characters.
