About 200 Guinness fans turned out to Central Market on Thursday night to enjoy the smooth stout prepared in dozens of different dishes from local restaurateurs and businesses.

The annual event, There's Guinness in it!, is hosted by the York Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee, draws a hungry crowd eager to try the popular beer in appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Chefs used Guinness in innovated twists, such as a spicy Thai sauce smothering sliders from Simply Soup and Joy's Cafe and as a base for Cajun-grilled shrimp from Mezzogiorno.

Those with a sweet tooth could enjoy Guinness cake pops from And Everything Beyond Bakery and egg custard capped with a caramel Guinness sauce from Mezzogiorno.
