SHAPE Gallery displays student artwork

SHIPPENSBURG - March is National Youth Art month, and SHAPE Gallery, 19 E. King St., Shippensburg, is showing art from Shippensburg Area High Senior High School's advanced placement art students.

Since its founding in 1999, SHAPE has showcased local artists and has worked closely with area high schools to display artwork done by AP art students. Guided by Sarah Maclay for the last three years, the Shippensburg students have once again submitted an impressive body of work for the exhibit.

To be accepted into the Art AP program at Shippensburg, “Students must have a minimum of three art classes and have approval from the high school faculty," Mcaclay said in a press release announcing the show. “Most students are interested in pursuing some sort of degree in an art-related field," she said.

2016 student exhibitors include Luke Ashberry; Andrea Crawford, Sarah Davison, Jesliana Delgado, Katie Eichelberger, Hannah Famulare, Sarah Garrett, Catelyn Gipe, Alissa Green, Emily Johnson, Alexis Lohr, Emilyn LaBonte, Haley Slocum and Noelle Zeigler. The exhibit is sponsored by Cabin on King.
