Celebrate spring with these local events


Get ready to eat your heart out at Gettysburg's 15th Taste of the Town. Various vendors will be in attendance at the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center, 2634 Emmitsburg Road, Gettysburg on April 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event gives you the opportunity to sample food from local restaurants, bakeries, caterers and wineries. Music

Gettysburg Big Band: It's time to put on your dancing shoes, folks. Move to swing, Latin, waltz and ballads March 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the American Legion, 528 E. Middle St., Gettysburg. Cherish the Ladies at the Majestic Theater: The Irish-American group, Cherish the Ladies, is celebrating their 30th anniversary with a performance at the Majestic Theater, 25 Carlisle St., Gettysburg on Apr. 3 at 3 p.m. Come out and give your ears the gift of Celtic music. 20 Years in Harmony: The Hanover Symphony Orchestra's final concert of the season will feature a variety of musical selections. However, there is a twist. The second half of the concert features an interactive portion in which the audience helps choose the music. York County Junior Honors Choir: The York County Junior Honors Choir, composed of 100 select singers in grades seven through nine from various school districts in York County, will perform April 3. Come out to the free event at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 129 Charles St., Hanover at 3 p.m. to hear percussion, soloists and small groups in the energetic choir concert. Performing Arts

"Anne of Green Gables": Delone Catholic High School presents its spring play, "Anne of Green Gables" in the school's old gymnasium at 140 S. Oxford Avenue, McSherrystown. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for students; students with a valid ID are admitted free.
