Shop a Book Nook

Red Lion: Get great deals on a wide selection of gently used books, videos, and music from 4 to 7 p.m. May 2 at the Kaltreider-Benfer Library, 144 W. Main St. The Book Nook is open on the 1st and 2nd Monday of the month, and the 3rd and 4th Saturday. All proceeds benefit the library. Don’t forget to also visit the mini Book Nook in the library! 'The Crooners' on stage

Lancaster: A cast of multi-talented performers will celebrate the most popular and enduring songs from the 1920s through the 1950s, along with recent hits from today’s modern, soulful musicians in an all-new Original Show at 3 p.m. May 3 at American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Highway East. Central PA SuperChef

Hershey: Check out a food competition featuring the best fine-dining and casual fine-dining restaurants and chefs in Central Pennsylvania from 6 to 9 p.m. May 4 at the Hershey Lodge, 325 University Dr. As participating chefs dice, sauté, and plate unique culinary creations, food lovers mingle, experience gourmet tastings, and shop the silent auction benefiting The Salvation Army with a portion also going to Project Share. Piano and Chamber Music Recital

Spring Garden Township: Students from the York College Division of Music and YCPrep Community Music School will present a recital of music inspired by and evocative of the night at 7:30 p.m. May 5 in DeMeester Recital Hall at York College, 441 Country Club Rd. Harrisburg Wine Festival

Harrisburg: Raise money for the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 6 at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 North St. This exciting event will feature over 140 vintners and more than 550 premium wines in a downtown landmark offering a unique backdrop of magnificence and history, as well as private exhibit access for Festival guests. Apple Blossom Festival

Biglerville: Bring the family to enjoy local crafters, delicious fair food, live music, and activities for children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 7 and 8 at the South Mountain Fairgrounds, 615 Narrows Rd., Rt. 234. There will be apple pie eating contests, a petting zoo, puppet shows, wagon-rides, wine and hard cider tastings, and more. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children 11 and younger. Olde York Street Fair

York: Don’t miss a Mother’s Day tradition from 12:30 to 6 p.m. May 8 during the Annual Olde York Street Fair, in and around Continental Square. This street fair features more than 100 artisans and food vendors, as well as live entertainment and strolling performers. The Kid's Fun Block also offers rides and games. Fifty percent of all food vendor proceeds will go to support local non-profit organizations. Ticket sales in the Kid’s Fun Block will support York City Special Events.
