Lesbian blocked from prom invited to 'Always Sunny'

Aniya Wolf was invited to William Penn Senior High School's prom in York

The suit that a Harrisburg student says got her kicked out of her high school prom might just land her on the popular television show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Rob McElhenney, a Philadelphia native, tweeted at Aniya Wolf on Thursday, asking her if she would like to wear her suit on the show.

Days before, Aniya, a student at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, said she was thrown out of her prom because she defied a last-minute email saying girls must wear dresses. The school said the dress code, including that girls must wear dresses, was sent out months ago, according to the Associated Press.

Aniya said she's a lesbian who has worn a shirt and pants to school all three years she has attended.

William Penn Senior High School invited Aniya to the school's prom on May 21.

At first, Aniya didn't know what to take of McElhenney's tweet.

But McElhenney wasn't messing around. His invite came on the heels of another invitation.
