Capitol Theatre goes 'mad' for movies


CHAMBERSBURG - The Capitol Theatre Center, 159 S. Main St., Chambersburg, will host Summer Movie Madness on Thursdays in June, July and August, beginning June 2 with 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. showings of "Aladdin," the G-rated Disney animated adventure comedy featuring the voice of Robin Williams as the genie.

All movies are $5, with passes available for all 12 movies at a discounted rate of $25.

Movies will be shown on the historic Capitol Theatre's new movie screen with surround sound, which was underwritten by Summit Health. Popcorn, candy, soda, water, and - for select films - beer and wine will be for sale at the concession stand.

June 9: "Minions"

June 16: "Interstellar"

June 23: "The Lego Movie"

June 30: "Mary Poppins"

July - historical and political movies

July 7: "Bridge of Spies"

July 14: "Lincoln"

July 21: "Selma"

July 28: no movie

August - nostalgic '80s movies

Aug. 4: "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

Aug. 11: "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial"

Aug. 18: "The Goonies"

Aug. 25: "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off"
