WAYNESBORO - Renfrew Museum and Park is once again offering its Thursday-night Summer Concert Series, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, behind the Royer-Nicodemus House at 1010 E. Main St., Waynesboro.
This is the fourth summer that Renfrew has offered the weekly concerts. Every Thursday night at 7 p.m. behind the museum house, one of a variety of musical groups come to play a free concert for the public. They typically last around an hour, and audiences just need to bring blankets and chairs for seating.
"We are happy to be able to do this kind of weekly event for the community," said Dade Royer, executive director. "We've had great attendance the past three summers, and are excited about this upcoming series."
The schedule for this year has some returning acts, as well as new musicians. Each group has their own sound and style. Two of the concerts will include free Antietam Dairy ice cream.
Local band On Tap will be kicking off the concert series for Renfrew with their rock 'n' roll music. The band includes Drew Adams on bass and lead vocals, Jenni Benson on lead vocals, Pat Henson on drums, percussion, keyboard, and vocals, Mike Miller on lead keyboards and vocals, and Jeremy West on lead guitar.
The band got rained out during last year's series, and Renfrew was happy to see that they were able to be scheduled again this year
All of the concerts this year are sponsored by the Waynesboro American Legion Post 15.
