Carnivals to check out in Hanover, Adams County

Carnival season is here for the Hanover-Adams County area.

Rides, games, bands and fireworks are all part of the many activities happening this carnival season. 

Family-friendly events are planned from mid-June through mid-September.

Delone Catholic High School Carnival

  • When: 6 to 10 p.m. June 13 through 18
  • Where: 140 South Oxford Ave., McSherrystown 

Harney Fire Company Carnival

  • When: 6 p.m. June 27 through July 2
  • Where: 5130 Harney Road, Taneytown, Maryland
  • More: Dining hall opens at 4:40 p.m., food stands open at 6 p.m.; rides open at 6:30 p.m. and entertainment runs from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Gettysburg Fireman's Carnival

  • When: 6 p.m. June 28 to July 2
  • Where: Gettysburg Rec Park, 545 Long Lane, Gettysburg
  • More: Kitchen opens at 5 p.m.; fireworks start at 11 p.m. July 1; bands will be playing on June 30 and July 2.

United Hook and Ladder Co. Fireman's Fair

  • When: 6:30 p.m. July 12 through 16
  • Where: 21 North Bolton St., New Oxford
  • More: Kitchen opens at 5 p.m.; fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. July 13.

Jefferson Carnival

  • When: 5:30 p.m. July 18 through 23
  • Where: 57 Hanover St., Codorus Township
  • More: Bands every night starting at 7 p.m.; fireworks start at 10:30 p.m. July 20.

Biglerville Hose and Truck Co. Taste of Apple Country Wine and Music Festival

  • When: Noon to 8 p.m. July 23 and noon to 4 p.m. July 24
  • Where: 111 S Main St., Biglerville 

Pleasant Hill Firefighters Carnival

  • When: 5 p.m. July 25 through 30
  • Where: 2941 Baltimore Pike, West Manheim Township
  • More: Kitchen opens at 4 p.m., and there are bands each night.

York Springs Fire Co. Carnival

  • When: 6 p.m. July 27 through 30
  • Where: 312 Main St., York Springs
  • More: Dinner each night at 6 p.m. and bands each night at 7 p.m.  

South Mountain Fair

  • Dates: Aug. 2 through 6
  • Hours: 4 p.m. Aug. 2 through 5; 1 p.m.  Aug. 6
  • Where: 615 Narrows Road, Biglerville
  • More: Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 4.

Bendersville Fire Co. Carnival

  • When: 5 p.m. Aug. 3 through 6
  • Where: 144 Park St., Bendersville
  • More: Bands each night.

Littlestown Fireman's Carnival

  • When: 6 p.m. Aug. 8 through 13
  • Where: Crouse Park

Biglerville Hose and Truck Co. Fall Fest

  • When: 5 p.m. Sept. 15 through 17
  • Where: 111 S Main St., Biglerville
  • More: Kitchen opens at 4:30 p.m. and bands play from 7 to 11 p.m. each night.
