Musical weekend coming to Wayensboro


WAYNESBORO - Singers, songs and songwriters figure prominently in the program of arts events planned by Desitnation ARTS!, Waynesboro, for the June 24-26 weekend.

Friday, June 24

Wine Down Friday, 5:30-8 p.m. in Gallery 50 – 50 West MainStreet, features singer-songwriter Brian Forberger performing a mix of original songs and classic rock covers. Forberger is also a talented drummer and his music has a unique rhythmic component. Wine and light refreshments will be available.

A musical demonstration from 5:30-8 p.m. at 42 West ARTS Co-Op & Gallery, 42 West Main Street, will feature music by the New Horizon Jazz Band.

At Summer in the Square, 5:30-8 p.m. in Center Square, Main Street, Nick Andrew Staver will be bringing a new voice to the blues. Staver is an award-winning singer-songwriter. His performances are an opportunity to capture a dose of rhythm and blues mixed into modern songwriting storylines.

Sunday, June 26

From 2-5 p.m. in the newly opened Music Makers Center, 46 West Main Street, members of the Songwriters Forum will be performing original songs written as part of the group’s writing exercises  Featured performers will include Jon Ingels, Tresa Paul, Joel Newman, Michael Weber, Ginny Gill and Craig Allen Williams.

The Songwriters Forum meets on a monthly basis in Waynesboro. Prior to each meeting, a new title or subject is chosen and members are encouraged to write an original song, resulting in unique works that reflect each participant’s preferred musical genre and unique style.
