The Raleigh Ringers come to the Luhrs stage

SHIPPENSBURG - The Raleigh Ringers, an internationally acclaimed concert handbell choir based in Raleigh, North Carolina, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center at Shippensburg Univeristy.

Founded in 1990, the Raleigh Ringers dazzle audiences with unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music, including famous rock 'n' roll tunes, arranged just for handbells. They perform on one of the most extensive collections of bells and bell-like instruments owned by any
handbell ensemble in the world.

Under the direction of David M. Harris, The Raleigh Ringers have performed in 39 states and the District of Columbia, in several cities in France and England, in Canada, live on the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom Show” radio show, and on the “Hour of Power” at the Crystal Cathedral in California.

They have produced six CDs and have several concert videos available on DVD.

The group recently returned from a trip to the UK and France, where they participated in the 40th anniversary celebration of Fred Gramann's service at the American Cathedral in Paris and also performed in other venues in Paris and London.

The concert is sponsored by Middle Spring Presbyterian Church of Shippensbuurg.
