Grab your glasses: Wine tasting in the Hamptons

It's that time of year again.

Not only do the members of the Hampton Fire Company volunteer their time serving the community on a daily basis, they also spend hours planning events such as their fourth annual "Wine Tasting in the Hamptons" event, planned again this year for August.

Vendors will be in attendance, showcasing handcrafted items such as clothing, jewelry and blacksmithed art pieces. Cornhole tournaments will also take place all weekend with cash prizes.

Make sure to walk around with your wine glass to try free samples from local wineries, too.

A homemade wine-making competition is new to this year's event. Guests can provide volunteers of the fire company with a bottle of their own wine, and a panel of judges will determine who wins cash prizes. Online pre-registration for the contest is required by Aug. 1. All entries must be turned in by 3 p.m. Saturday before the competition begins at 5 p.m.

Guests can also enjoy live bands and the tunes of country, rock and dance genres while taking advantage of the smorgasbord of food available.
