Caledonia State Park hosts 34th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair


FAYETTEVILLE - Approximately 150 crafters and artists will display their wares.on Saturday, July 9, at Caledonia State Park's 34th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the park, 101 Pine Grove Road, Fayetteville.

Admission is free. Spend the day browsing through the unique variety of crafts ranging from jewelry, pottery, baskets, Indian and southwestern crafts to birdhouses, handcrafted furniture and more.

Entertainment will be provided by Nancy and Jody “Island Fusion” band and Gad Abouts Square Dance Club.

Island Fusion will perform 9-11 a.m. and  noon -1 p.m. with steel drums, keyboards, guitar, drums and vocals featuring the music of the islands, Jimmy Buffett, classic rock, R&B and swing.  Gad Abouts Square Dance Club will perform 11 a.m.-noon and from 1-2 p.m.

A variety of sandwiches, baked goods, french fries, ice cream and sodas will be available at the concession stand at the pool and through the King Street U.B. Sunday school classes.  .

Environmental Interpretive Technician Wesley Foltz will be offering free samples of old style homemade root beer, made from natural ingredients, at the pool patio from 1-3 p.m.

Also, the Thaddeus Stevens Blacksmith Shop will be open from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., with Ross Hetrick portraying Thaddeus Stevens. The PA Forest Fire and Heritage Museum is scheduled to be open from 1-5 p.m., and the PA Woodmobile will be on site.

The craft show is hosted by the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, Caledonia State Park and the Friends of Caledonia State Park.
