'The Dixie Swim Club' splashes onto Washington County Playhouse stage

HAGERSTOWN, MD. - From the writers of TV’s "The Golden Girls" comes the story of five Southern women whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team. They set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other’s lives. If you like "Steel Magnolias," you’ll love "The Dixie Swim Club."

Starring Diana Abrecht, Alllison Banzhoff, Joan Crooks, Cookie Driscoll and Denise O'Brien, the heartfelt and hilarious comedy directed by Scott Ruble begins on July 22 and continue on Friday and Saturday evenings through August 20 at The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Children's Theater, 44 North Potomac St., Hagerstown, Maryland. There is one Sunday matinee on July 24.

Buffet dinner and show tickets cost $42 for adults. There will be a cash bar available.
