Craft seasonal clay creations with NCCS
Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies has announced two October pottery workshops being held at either the NCCS' Mont Alto Pottery studio or the Ceramic Arts Center in Waynesboro.
In Mont Alto
Create a whimsical fall themed lidded container and snack tray at a workshop from 7-9 p.m. on October 11 at the Mont Alto pottery studio in room 008 of the General Studies Building on the Penn State Mont Alto campus, 1 Campus Drive, Mont Alto.
Instructor Carolyn Baker will guide students step-by-step through this project.
The container will feature a variety of sculptural features such as vines, twigs and leaves. Both the lidded container and tray will be made from durable white stoneware clay and glazed with colorful glazes that are food, oven and microwave safe.
The cost for this workshop is $40, which includes instruction, all materials, glaze and firings.
Join instructor Trudy Gembe-Palughi at the Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, from 2-4 p.m. on October 14 or October 20; or from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28 to create cute trolls, gnomes, fairies, or even Santa out of clay.
