Enjoy autumn on the rails at Rockhill Trolley Museum

HUNTINGDON COUNTY - There are special events going on every weekend during the month of October for railroad enthusiasts, families and kids at Rockhill Trolley Museum, 430 Meadow St., Rockhill Furnace.

The Rockhill Trolley Museum, an all-volunteer, educational, historical facility and the first operating trolley museum in Pennsylvania, began in 1960 with one trolley. There are now 23 unique antique trolleys ranging in vintage from 1895 to 1982. Some are in a pile of parts, others completely restored to like-new condition, and others are in every condition in between.

The smallest trolley at Rockhill is a tiny wooden “Toonerville Trolley” from Portugal and the largest is the world famous “Liberty Liner, Independence Hall," only one of two ever built that runs, a four-part articulated train trolley that ran in excess of 111 miles per hour in 1941.
