Swedish singer/ songwriter coming to The Thought Lot

SHIPPENSBURG - ​Swedish folk singer/ songwriter Sofia Talvik will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at The Thought Lot, 37 E Garfield St, Shippensburg.

Talvik has toured 45 states in Lil’Chief, her little 1989 RV. Her latest album, ”Big Sky Country,” (which was named one of the five best Americana albums of the year by the British newspaper, The Telegraph) celebrates her love for the vast plains, big mountains and sandy coastlines in the states that she toured through and the warm and quirky people she met on the road.

She has played big festivals like Lollapalooza and SxSW and has opened for Maria McKee and David Duchovny, but the intimate setting of a smaller stage where she can casually joke and communicate with the audience is where her strength as a performer shines brightest.

She has been compared to stars like Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins.
