Antique engines steam up the valley April 25 and 26

Two big days of steam, gas and other antique tractors, trucks and engines are planned for April 25 and 26 during Cumberland Valley Antique Engine and Machinery Association's Spring Show and Flea Market.

A large consignment sale opens the event at 9 a.m. April 24 on the show grounds at 1501 Crider's Church Road.

The featured tractor this year will be Allis Chalmers models. These and other antique trucks, tractors, gas and steam engines will be the centerpiece April 25 and 26 as the show grounds becomes a festival dedicated to our rural agricultural past.

In addition to the operating displays, there will be a blacksmith shop recreation. Tractors will parade daily across the show grounds and many will compete in antique tractor pulls throughout the day. Saturday afternoon will feature garden tractor pulling contests.

A toy show should attract children and adults alike. Children will have a chance to test their skill at the kiddie pedal tractor pulls each of the three days.

Both indoor and outdoor flea markets provide intereste to those who love to shop.

Admission and parking are free.

Families who wish to spend the weekend may call Twin Bridge Campground at 369-2216.
