ARTrageous art and music May 11 in Shippensburg Area Senior High School

SHIPPENSBURG >> The Shippensburg Area School District Art Department is deep into preparation for its annual ARTrageous district-wide art exhibition, to take place May 11.

The exhibition will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in Shippensburg Area Senior High School, 201 Eberly Road. It features a selection of this year's finest artwork by district students at all grade levels.

An outer space theme will be this year's arts-centered event, with children's activities, face painting and student art demonstrations taking place in the high school's art wing.

Artwork will be showcased in the high school's cafeteria and auditorium lobbies.

Music in the air

ARTrageous coincides with the Intermediate Instrumental Festival beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The music festival will feature SASD's fourth and fifth grade orchestra, fifth grade band, and sixth grade jazz band.

ARTrageous and the Intermediate Instrumental Festival are free to the public.
