Destination ARTS!: A variety of activities in art, music and theater performance are happening around Waynesboro this weekend.
• "Wine Down Friday" receptions with live music, wine and refreshments are scheduled 5:30 to 8 p.m. at these galleries: Gallery 50, 50 W. Main St.; Gallery 20 East, 20 E. Main St.; 42 West Arts Co-Op, 42 W. Main St.
• Waynesboro Children's Theatre Troupe will perform "Show Tunes," a program of music from popular stage shows, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Center Square. The rain site is Gallery 20 East.
• Art exhibits on Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m. at 42 West Arts Co-Op: Greencastle woodworker Ed Bear will demonstrate wood burning images of feathers and eagles, and Denny Bingaman will demonstrate sculpting an African elephant in clay.

Mountaintop Heritage Days: The event returns to Fort Richie, Maryland, in 2015 after a one-year absence. There will be craft and food vendors, music, children's events and a fireworks show. The event kicks off Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fort Richie Community Center, with a presentation by World War II veteran Guy Stern, one of the "Richie Boys" credited for playing a major role in obtaining information that helped the Allies defeat the Germans in Europe. • A Cappella & Unplugged: Watch local singers sing it out or pluck away on their acoustic instruments — no electric instruments or other music allowed! — on stage at 7 p.m. at Chambersburg Capitol Theatre. The talent competition will feature two rounds, from which a panel of judges will choose semi-finalists to move on to a public voting round. The top six performers, based on voting at Facebook.com/FVCBen, will then have a chance to perform again on July 18 during the finals in ChambersFest during festivities leading up to the "1864 the Burning" light show and story of the ransoming, burning and rebirth of Chambersburg. The grand champion will be able to perform on the steps of Franklin County Courthouse to open the light show. But before all that — tickets to the semi finals June 27 are $15 a person and are available online at www.thecapitoltheatre.org or by calling the box office at 717-263-0202, Ext. 0. Tickets will also be available at the door.
• Cornhole tournament: Roy Pitz Brewing Company, 140 N. Third St., will host its cornhole hole tournament at 10 a.m. The registration deadline has passed, but you can still watch and try one (or some!) of the local breweries' craft creations.
June 28
• Cycle and classic car Sunday: Take a look a motorcycles and cars on display starting at 10:45 a.m. at Mongul Church, 4162 Roxbury Road, Shippensburg. You can also register your own at 9:45 a.m. There will be free lunch. Proceeds benefit The Harbor, a fellowship site. Get more information at www.mongulchurch.com.
• Winning Smiles Family Golf Day: Bring the whole family out to Penn National miniature golf course in Fayetteville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission includes lunch and goodie bags, with proceeds going to Lancaster Cleft Palat Clinic. Register at www.cleftclinic.org.
