ZULLINGER >> Knick Knack Pittie Pack is inviting area residents — both human and canine — to its second annual Doggie Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Zullinger Community Center, 4569 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet Will Angelos, author of "Itty Bitty Pitty in the Great Big City," and the star of his book, Oakley, for story time at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Angelos will be selling his book and autographing it. Also slated to appear is WQCM's Jeff Whipp and an extra special guest, "sunshine girl" Becky, who was rescued as a very sick pup and is now living the good life on a 200-acre farm. Becky will greet her fans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shippensburg Animal Hospital will offer nail trims for $5 and microchips for $20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pet pictures will be provided by Davis Family Media and Design for just $5.

A doggie costume contest is planned at 2:30 p.m.

The event also features a basket raffle, food and bake sale items, adoptable dogs and a doggie kissing booth. Pet blessings will be available all day, and a floating candle memorial is planned to remember the beloved dogs who have crossed the "rainbow bridge." Adoptable dogs will also be on hand, looking to find their forever families.
