$5 movies coming to historic Capitol Theatre


CHAMBERSBURG >> Enjoy a variety of $5 movies this winter in the nostalgic setting of the 1927 historic Capitol Theatre, 159 S. Main St., Chambersburg, while supporting the nonprofit Capitol Theatre Center organization.

The theater is offering pizza with select movies, available for purchase one hour before the movie. Wine or beer will be sold with select movies, as well as the usual concession-stand offerings.

The film schedule for October through December includes:

•Friday, Oct. 30: Hotel Transylvania (2012); pizza 5 p.m., movie 6 p.m.; family animation, rated PG; 91 minutes.

•Friday, Oct. 30: Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992); pizza 8 p.m., movie 9 p.m.; horror romance, rated R; 128 minutes.

•Friday, Nov. 27 (Black Friday): Big Hero 6 (2014); pizza 2 p.m., movie 3 p.m.; family animation, rate PG; 102 minutes.

•Saturday, Nov. 28: Ex Machina (2015); pizza 6 p.m., movie 7 p.m.; sci-fi drama, rated R; 108 minutes.

•Monday, Dec. 21: White Christmas (1954); movie 3 p.m.; classic musical; 120 minutes.

•Wednesday, Dec. 23: The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992); pizza 5 p.m., movie 6 p.m.; family movie, rated PG; 85 minutes.

•Sunday, Dec. 27: The Hunger Games (2015); movie 3 p.m.; sci-fi adventure, rated PG-13; 142 minutes.

•Monday, Dec. 28: Divergent; movie 3 p.m.; sci-fi adventure, rated PG-13; 140 minutes.

•Tuesday, Dec. 29: Furious 7 (2015); pizza and beer 6 p.m., movie 7 p.m.; action, rated PG-13; 140 minutes.
