Historical society displays medical history of Washington County, Md.


HAGERSTOWN, MD. >> From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, the Washington County Historical Society will be opening a new exhibit on the medical history of the Hagerstown, Md., region.

"Outbreak!" will explore the stories of doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and other medical practitioners throughout the history of Washington County, Md., which saw more than its fair share of pioneers in the healthcare industry.

Artifacts on display include Civil War surgery kits, tools from local doctors and dentists and a display of bottles and remedies from local pharmacies.
