See 'America's Volcanic Legacy' at Chambersburg school

Conococheague Audubon Society will present a nature film, “Hotspots – America’s Volcanic Legacy,” presented by Gray Warriner, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Chambersburg Area Middle School South, 1151 E. McKinley St.

Pre-film entertainment will be provided by the Duval sisters on piano and violin from Cumberland Valley School of Music.

The three-part film series that includes this program is a major annual fundraiser for the society. Proceeds support activities such as Norlo Native Plants Garden in Fayetteville, a beginner birding workshop at Caledonia State Park, birdseed for Caledonia, Audubon Adventures for grades 4-6 in various public schools, bluebird trails, cash awards in an annual science fair for nature-related experiments, a scholarship for educational activities and other conservation efforts.

Admission is $8 for adults and $1 for students in kindergarten through college. Preschoolers are free.
