Dig in to Mulligan MacDuffer's ice cream eating contest

Test your ice cream eating skills (and tolerance for brain freeze) at Mulligan MacDuffer Adventure Golf's Summerfest.

While the contest is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, other family activities will also take place all day Saturday and Sunday.

All festivities will take place at the golf course and ice cream shop, 1360 Baltimore Pike, across from the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitors Center.

Have a bash with Utz

Utz Quality Foods Inc. will hold the 2nd Annual Utz Summer Bash on Friday from 12 to 6 p.m. at the Outlet Store and Utz Pavilion area, 861 Carlisle St., Hanover. There will be food vendors, free prize giveaways, face-painting and free carnival-style games for children of all ages.

Celebrate Hanover's heritage at the Dutch Festival

The annual free festival will take place on Hanover's Center Square on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, which celebrates the town's Pennsylvania Dutch roots, includes local food, entertainment and vendors.

Visit the Pleasant Hill carnival

The annual Pleasant Hill carnival ends Saturday, with events running daily starting at 6 p.m. The carnival takes place at 3003 Baltimore Pike, five miles south of Hanover.

Festivities include rides, food and live music.

Kerensa Grey: Jazz and blues vocalist Kerensa Grey will perform at Hauser Estate Winery, 410 Cashtown Road, Biglerville, at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Cross Roads Band: The group will play at Hauser Estate Winery, 410 Cashtown Road, Biglerville, from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday.

Prison Earth: The group will play at Zippers, 55 E. Hanover St., Bonneauville, at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Gettysburg Big Band: The band plays at the American Legion in Gettysburg, 528 E. Middle St., from 7 to 9 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of every month. The Al Parsons Band: The group will play at Hauser Estate Winery, 410 Cashtown Road, Biglerville, at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Kirk Wise: The group will play at Hauser Estate Winery, 410 Cashtown Road, Biglerville, from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

"Memoirs of Abraham Lincoln": This play will continue through Sunday at Totem Pole Playhouse, 9555 Golf Course Road, Fayetteville.
