'Rocky Horror,' 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' among upcoming shows at Gettysburg Community Theatre
Gettysburg Community Theatre's upcoming production of "The Rocky Horror Show" boasts a warning that sets it apart from other shows at the 80-seat, volunteer-based venue.
"If sex, drugs, rock & roll, adultery, cannibalism, cross-dressing, aliens and, above all, campy show tunes are not your cup of tea, this may not be the show for you," the press release warns.
The musical, made famous by the cult classic "Rocky Horror Picture Show" movie in 1975, will take the Gettysburg stage Oct. 29 through 31. The show was already nearly sold out by last week, said Chad-Alan Carr, who plays the cross-dressing Dr. Frank N Furter and serves as the theater's executive director.
If you missed the opportunity to buy tickets for "Rocky Horror," or if you're looking for something a little more family-friendly, fear not: the theater has many other shows planned over the next year.
All shows take place at Gettysburg Community Theatre, 49 York St. in Gettysburg, unless otherwise noted. Tickets for 2015 shows are available at www.gettysburgcommunitytheatre.com or at the theater two hours before show time if not already sold out.
