2016: Where to hunt Easter eggs around Hanover


Spring into the season with these Easter egg hunts and other Easter-related activities happening in Hanover. Check back here to see new events that have been added to this ongoing list.

March 12

GIANT Food Stores: 801 Baltimore St., Penn Township. Egg hunt times are 10 a.m. for ages 1 to 3, 11 a.m. for ages 4 to 7 and noon for ages 8 to 12. The Easter bunny will be on-site noon to 2 p.m.

Spring Grove Area High School: 1490 Roth Church Road, Spring Grove. Kids will search for eggs in the pool or on the pool deck, as allowed by swimming ability. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. The hunt starts at 11 a.m.

March 19

Battlefield Harley-Davidson: 21 Cavalry Field Road, Gettysburg. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 19. This annual Easter egg hunt will feature 35,000 Easter eggs, as well as visits from the Easter Bunny, Big Bird, and Elmo. This free event is open to children ages 12 and younger. Participants will be organized into three age groups: 0-4, 5-8, and 9-12. Freedom Valley Worship Center will have its "Kiddie Pillar" located on-site. The activities begin promptly 11 a.m., but visitors are asked to arrive an hour earlier. The rain date is March 26.

Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum & Candy Emporium: 6019 Chambersburg Road, Orrtanna, Adams County. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 19. In recent years, the fifth annual Bunny Party & Easter Egg Hunt has become hugely popular, attracting families throughout the region. Children ages 10 and younger are invited to hunt for the 9,000 eggs which will be filled with chocolate, prize tickets or money. This event will feature live music, caricaturists and balloon artists. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos.

West Manheim Recreation Park: 255 St. Bartholomew Road, Hanover. March 19. This event will host separate Easter egg hunts for children and dogs. The children's egg hunt begins at 9 a.m. The egg hunt for dogs starts at 10:30 a.m. The rain date is 1 p.m. March 20.

Spring Grove Regional Parks and Recreation Center: The group is hosting three hunts March 19: 9 a.m. at Farmers Field Park, Paradise Township; 10 a.m. at Stone Ledge Park, Jackson Township and 11 a.m. at Spring Grove Community Park. These events are open to children 10 years of age and younger and will include a special appearance by the Easter bunny. In case of inclement weather, the hunts will move to 2 p.m. March 19 at the Spring Grove Recreation Center gymnasium.

March 26

Moul Field: 401 Moul Ave., Hanover. 2 p.m. March 26. Join the ninth annual Hanover Community Easter Egg Hunt.

Hollabaugh Bros. Fruit Farm & Market: 545 Carlisle Road, Biglerville. Egg hunts will take place every 20 to 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $6 per child. Tractor rides through the orchard will be offered for $1 per rider. Other attractions include the Easter bunny, live bunnies, crafts, games and photo opportunities.
