Governor's Residence open for holiday tours

Governor Tom Wolf and First Lady Frances Wolf are officially ready for the holidays.

The stockings are hung, the lights are lit and the trees are now decorated at the Governor’s Residence.

If you haven’t seen the Residence’s new holiday décor, there’s still time to do so.

On Sunday, Dec. 13, the public is invited to a Holiday Open House at the Residence, 2035 N. Front St., Harrisburg. From 1 to 6 p.m., visitors can view holiday decorations as well as the Residence’s current art exhibition, “The Pennsylvania Arts Experience,” which features works from more than 70 local artists, according to a news release.

The following entertainment will be provided during the Open House:

Grand Hall:

1 p.m. – Trust Company
4 p.m. – Piano Duets (Anne L. Parmer and Roger J. Levin MD, Ally Weller and Joey Goduto)
5 p.m. – Susquehanna Flute Quartet

State Dining Room:

1 p.m. – Trinity Lutheran Lemoyne Bell Choir
2 p.m. – Karl Hausman, pianist
3 p.m. – Governor’s Horns Brass Quintet
4 p.m. – Central Dauphin Acapella Singers
5 p.m. – Jon Abel, pianist

Visitors are also encouraged to drop off a new, unwrapped toy in the Toys for Tots box and fill out holiday cards for local veterans, the release said.

The Residence will also be open for free holiday tours from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 14-16.
