Ring in the New Year with a variety of First Friday events on Jan. 1 throughout downtown York. Ski your way to a Guinness World Record at the World’s Largest Ski Lesson at Roundtop Mountain Resort. Celebrate First Friday

York:  Families and friends are invited to Ring In The New with First Friday activities from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 1 throughout downtown York. Enjoy specials, discounts and free entertainment courtesy of various shops, restaurants and nightlife. First Fridays encourage the celebration and exploration of all that downtown York has to offer. World’s Largest Ski Lesson

Lewisberry: Be a part of a nationwide ski and snowboard lesson for the Guinness Book of World Records at 10 a.m. Jan. 8 at Roundtop Mountain Resort, 925 Roundtop Rd. Pennsylvania Farm Show

Harrisburg: Pennsylvania is proud to host the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the country, running Jan. 9 through 16 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, N. Cameron and Maclay Streets. The farm show will feature nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibits. Wedding Wonderland

West Manchester Township: Brides-to-be won’t want to miss Central PA’s premier bridal show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at Memorial Hall, York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave. Talk with amazing professionals about flowers, honeymoons, reception facilities, limousines, wedding cakes and more. FestivIce

York:FestivIce is an ice festival that's downright defiant of the cold. Greenberg's Train and Toy Show

West Manchester Township: See hundreds of tables of trains, accessories and toys for sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 23 and 24 in the Utz Arena at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave. Greenberg's Train and Toy Show is the largest and longest-running train show in the northeast and includes huge operating model train layouts; free model railroading clinics; hourly door prizes; activities for kids; and more. Home & Garden Show

West Manchester Township: Whether your project is big or small, talk to more than 100 experts that can make your dream a reality from 1 to 9 p.m. Jan. 29, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 30, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Utz Arena at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave. Seminars will also provide decorating ideas and tips. Chocolatefest

Hershey: Sample a variety of chocolate creations from noon to 1:30 p.m. or 2 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Hershey Lodge, West Chocolate Ave. and University Dr. Enjoy live entertainment, a silent auction, children's activities, and an impressive cake competition.
