Get a rush at new indoor racetrack near Harrisburg

Start your engines for a new indoor kart racing track coming to the Harrisburg area.

The European-style Autobahn Indoor Speedway is set to open the second week of February at 1001 Bosler Ave., Lemoyne, in the former Susquehanna Sport Center.

The electric Formula 1-inspired karts are made in Italy and reach up to 50 mph for a Grand Prix experience.

The speedway’s “Arrive and Drive” program assigns individuals or small groups to an upcoming race, where up to 10 drivers compete for the fastest lap times. No reservations are needed. The cost is $19.99 for 14 laps with multi-race packages available.

Junior karting, with slower speeds, is designed for children at least 8 years old and 48 to 56 inches tall.

Group packages are available for parties, social groups and corporate outings.

Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m.-midnight Friday; 10 a.m.-midnight Saturday; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.

An additional Autobahn Indoor Speedway is located northeast of Baltimore in the White Marsh area, at 8415 Kelso Drive, Essex, Md.
