Four things to do this weekend in Hanover-Adams County

Looking for something to do June 19 through 21? FlipSidePA has you covered.

Have a blast at Codorus State Park

This year's Codorus Blast, to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, is filled with activities that will tempt visitors who keep coming back, as well as those who need a nudge to see what the state park has to offer.

Organized by volunteer group The Friends of Codorus Park, the weekend-long blast is one of many events that helps raise money that goes directly into the park and to other charities, said Dwight Resh, president of the group.

Here are five can't-miss events planned for this year's blast.

See a play in Gettysburg

A real-life husband and wife play the lead roles of two lovers in Gettysburg Community Theatre's "Carousel."

Catherine and Lee Howard take the stage at the York Street theater as Julie Jordan and Billy Bigelow until Sunday.

"Carousel," a story of love and redemption, is set along the New England coast in the late 19th century, director Chad-Alan Carr said in a news release.

Purchase tickets by calling 717-334-2692, visiting GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or stopping at the box office Tuesdays through Fridays, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Final performances will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Celebrate Rusty's birthday

It's Rusty the golden retriever's birthday, and you're invited to celebrate. Adams County Winery will host its 6th Annual Rusty's Birthday Bash on Saturday to raise money for the Adams County SPCA.

The bash will be from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. at the Farm Winery, 251 Peach Tree Road, Franklin Township. This is a family-friendly, pet-friendly event and is free to the public.

There will be a D.J. spinning tunes, free wine tastings, food available for purchase, a doggie wash, a vendor providing dental hygiene exams and additional vendors with pet-themed items available for purchase.

Have a beer with Dad

The Historic Round Barn is hosting a Hoppy Father's Day Beer & BBQ from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 21 at the barn, 298 Cashtown Road, Biglerville.

The 2015 edition of the Historic Round Barn & Farm Markets' annual Father's Day event will have multiple barbecue vendors cooking on-site and dishing out meals as well as free craft beer samples, compliments of a future brewery that will be opening up across the street from the Round Barn in 2016.

This event will also feature live music by the Klinger McFry band, as well as activities for the entire family, including a chance to shoot air cannons.

Meet the producers and sample new, local food products, being offered at the Round Barn Farm Market.
