Sample Girl Scout cookie-inspired dishes from local chefs

Local chefs will compete in a battle for the best Girl Scout cookie recipe in September, and you could be one of the judges.

Guests are invited to sample sweet and savory creations and vote for their favorite at the Girl Scout in the Heart of Pennsylvania's third annual Fork It Over fundraiser, according to a news release.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Wyndridge Farm, 885 S. Pleasant Ave., Dallastown.

From 5:30 to 8 p.m., local chefs will create and serve dishes featuring their favorite Girl Scout Cookies, such as Samoas coconut beef with jasmine rice, Trefoil fig focaccia, Samoas pumpkin bread pudding and more.

Returning champs Brown's Orchards & Farm Market and Mezzogiorno will be joined by John Wright Restaurant, Red Brick Bakery and Tea Room, Offcenter Grill at The Yorktowne Hotel and The Accomac Inn, according to the release.

Tickets cost $30 and include samples of the food, an auction and a tour of Wyndridge Farm.

Proceeds benefit local Girl Scouts, "enabling them to do amazing things for (the) community, the world and themselves," the release said.
