York City Boutique Week returns in September


York City Boutique Week is back this September.

The week-long event returns for its fourth year Sept. 1-5 to highlight downtown York's independently owned retailers and eateries.

Boutique Week includes in-store events, trunk shows, demonstrations, pop-up shows and other special events. York City retailers will also be open until 7 p.m. each night of Boutique Week.

Festivities kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 1 with a Fashion Luncheon at Tutoni's, 108 N. George St., where guests can meet designers and boutique owners and learn about upcoming fashion trends. Tickets are $20 and are available here.

Then, stop by White Rose Bar & Grill, 48 N. Beaver St., York, Tuesday evening, where FlipSidePA.com will host a free Boutique Week Happy Hour from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event includes free appetizers, discounted signature drinks and swag bags with Boutique Week coupons for the first 100 people registered. On Wednesday, Sept. 2, Beaver Street will be filled with food trucks and men's pop-up vendors for BROtique Night for Men. Ten downtown locations will also host New Belgium Brewing Beer sampling, courtesy of The Beer Ace.

Boutique Week continues with Maker's Night on Thursday, Sept. 3, where guests can attend DIY demonstrations and activities and "meet the maker" at shops, including The Watchmaker's Daughter and Arthur & Daughters. Shops will also offer specialty cocktails until 7 p.m.

The week ends on Saturday, Sept .5 with a fashion show, featuring fashion and accessories from participating York City Boutique Week retailers, at the Capitol Theatre, 50 N. George St., York. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available here.

Some downtown eateries will also offer Boutique Week exclusives. Participating eateries include Bair's Fried Chicken, Baron Von Schwein, The Green Bean Roasting Company, Just Cupcakes, Tutoni's, White Rose Bar & Grill and York City Pretzel Company.
