19th Century Firehouses Walking Tour: Carlisle: Take an informative walking tour of Carlisle's firehouses from the 1800s at 6 p.m. Aug. 17, departing the Cumberland County Historical Society, 21 N. Pitt St. Visit six firehouses, look at Carlisle's most burned block, learn about a tragedy where a young lad was run over by a steamer, visit a firehouse where an undercover detective broke an arson ring, and talk about dozens of other interesting events. Love Sick Blues: Fayetteville: Don't miss a special tribute to two country music legends as Love Sick Blues runs for eight performances only, Aug. 18 through 23 at Totem Pole Playhouse, 9555 Golf Course Road. The concert features Robbie Limon (from Lost Highway) as Hank Williams, Sr. and Denise Patton (from Ring of Fire) as Patsy Cline, performing greatest hits and the duet of their respective hit Love Sick Blues. Stand-Up Paddleboard Class: Wrightsville: Get an introduction to the sport of Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Shank's Mare, 2092 Long Level Road. On-land, learn handling your paddle, mounting the paddleboard and proper body position for balance. On-water instruction includes launching, various stroke techniques, maneuvering the board, and safety and rescue techniques. Fee is $44 for members, $49 for non-members. South Mountain Fair: Arendtsville: Visit the South Mountain Fair, located 10 miles northwest of historic Gettysburg, PA on Route 234. This agricultural country fair runs Aug. 18 through 22 with rides, entertainment, games, food, livestock shows and sales, homemade needlework exhibits, photography, home-canned fruits and vegetables, fresh produce and more.
