Wine in the Woods Festival brings wineries, craft vendors, live entertainment to Sacred Heart

The fifth annual Wine in the Woods Festival committee made some changes to its event in order to better serve its guests and raise money for Sacred Heart School.

The event on Sept. 19 will include six wineries, local craft vendors and live entertainment by DJ Breeze-Mon, according to Wine in the Woods chairperson Mike Hardin. Raffle tickets will also be available for a chance to win a themed basket.

Tickets are $15 at the door or $13 if reserved before the event. The entry fee includes a stemless wine glass and unlimited wine tasting, Hardin said.

However, if you're a designated driver, the entry fee is $5.

"Each year we get a little better at it," Hardin said. "We find out what to do different."

One change from previous years, he said, is the addition of credit cards as a form of payment for tickets and other items during the festival.

All proceeds from the festival benefit the school, he said.

Last year's attendance was around 500 people and the festival hopes to grow that number this September.

"It's a nice, laid-back event," Hardin said.
