When is the York Halloween Parade? 2015 Event details, registration information

The 66th annual York Halloween Parade is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, according to a news release from the York Revolution. The Revs' special events arm, Eventive, is organizing the parade and it is presented by York Traditions Bank.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. and will last until about 4, and it will follow the same path as last year. The route takes the parade down Market Street, from Richland Avenue through downtown York to Broad Street. Judges sit outside the York County Administrative Office at 26 E. Market St.

The theme for this year's parade is "Proud Past, Strong Future," and entrants are encouraged to convey York County's accomplishments in their float designs and marching drills, the news release states. This year's grand marshal is Paula Gilbert, director of children and youth services for York County Libraries, to honor Martin Library's 100th anniversary in 2016.

Marching Bands from Central York, Dallastown, Dover, West York, William Penn, York Catholic and York Suburban high schools plan to march in this year's parade. Menchey Music will donate $100 in merchandise to each band.

The Family Entertainment Zone will return this year and will be on North George Street between Market and Philadelphia streets. The zone includes inflatables, games, activities and music from 1 to 3 p.m. The Angel Ambel/Devil Dash 5K also returns this year, with a 1 p.m. start time and following the parade route.

Parade entry registration forms, vendor permits and volunteer information can be found on the parade's website. Registration and payment can be completed online.
