Concerts on the Lawn series returns to Hanover mansion


Hanover Area Historical Society will kick off its seventh concert season with the 2015 Lawn Concerts at The Mansion on June 3.

The series, called "Sounds of Summer!", is held on the lawn of the Warehime-Myers Mansion, 305 Baltimore St. in Hanover. Concerts are held the first Wednesdays in June, July, August and September.

Concerts feature music popular in the 20th Century including swing, jazz, Sousa marches and old standards.

The Lyric Band will present its "Swing into Summer!" performance June 3, followed by "It's a Grand Old Flag" on July 1. The Jazzberries will present "Swing into Rock!" on Aug. 5, and the Gettysburg Big Ban will play its "Big Bands Tunes!" concert Sept. 2.

Refreshments and pre-concert entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Turkey Hill tea, ice cream, Rita's Italian Ice, Utz chips and Warehouse Gourmet sandwiches will be available.

Take a lawn chair.
