4 things to do in York this weekend

Get in the Halloween spirit with these fun events held throughout York County this weekend.

'Dracula'

Watch as Professor Van Helsing hunts down evil Count Dracula in this York Little Theatre play, which opens this weekend. "Dracula" is filled with special effects, spooky music and plenty of surprises. And be prepared to get up close and personal with the actors because there's no place to hide in the intimate setting of YLT's Bon Ton Studio. Details here.

Or, if you'd rather dress up as Dracula yourself, here are some tips on how to become a vampire in five steps.

Scream Into History

Put on your Halloween costumes and get ready to scream. You might encounter a few creeps and ghouls on this Steam Into History haunted train ride to Taylor Hill, which opens this weekend. So it's best to leave the little ones at home. Details here.

Halloween Parade

York's 66th annual Halloween parade is back Sunday with floats, marching bands, vehicles, costumed entries and more. The event kicks off with a Halloween-themed 5K fun run/walk and also includes an entertainment zone with inflatables, games and music for kids. Details here.

Not into Halloween? Go to this rock concert instead.

You probably know Chris Cornell as the lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist for Seattle rock band Soundgarden and the former lead vocalist and songwriter for Audioslave. Maybe you even remember him as the frontman for Temple of the Dog. But now, the rock icon will bring his solo acoustic tour to the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York on Saturday. Details here.
