Yoga and Stand-Up Paddleboard

Wrightsville: Begin this class with an on-land yoga session, then head to the water for a basic session on stand-up paddleboarding skills from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Shank’s Mare, 2092 Long Level Rd. Swing Dancing

Carlisle: Learn the basics of swing dance during beginner lessons from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at The Green Door Dance Venue, 14 E. North St. Each lesson will cover the basic footwork and patterns, as well as several beginner to intermediate moves. Lessons are held every Tuesday and Saturday. Wednesday Hike for the Work Weary

Carlisle: Enjoy a briskly-paced hike of 3 or 4 miles over uneven terrain from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21, departing from the Kings Gap Hollow parking area at the Kings Gap Environmental Education Center, 500 Kings Gap Rd. Downtown York: The Annual York Halloween Parade starts at 2 p.m. Oct. 30, heading down Market St., from Richland Ave. through downtown York to Broad St. The theme for this year's parade is "Dreams for a Future York". Springettsbury Township: Come out for a crisp, mid-holiday stroll through the winter woods to search for gifts from Mother Nature from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 29 at Rocky Ridge County Park, 400 Deininger Rd. Noon Year's Eve Celebration

Harrisburg: Young children and their families are invited to welcome the new year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 30 at the State Museum of PA, 300 North St. Families can also take in a seasonal planetarium show, make a craft, enjoy a snack, dance, and listen to storytime.
