Bracelets to benefit charities: Chavez for Charity makes gorgeous colored bracelets that benefit charities, and Kimman's Co. has them for sale. Each bracelet is geared toward a specific charity, such as Alex's Lemonade, Matt Damon's water.org, the Matthew Shepard Foundation and others. Twenty-five percent of the sale of the bracelet goes to the charity, said Caroline Morris, owner of Kimman's. The cost is $12.95 for men, $11.95 for women and $9.95 for little girls.
Knock his or her socks off: For the adventurer, pick a pair of cycling socks. How about ones with a mug of beer? Or ones that say "Born to Ride"? Jay Zech of Gung Ho Bikes in Manchester Township said the store has cycling socks with "all kinds of cool stuff" on them for $10 a pair. And they will help to keep your loved one's feet dry.
Isn't this swell?: S'well bottles "are really hot right now," said Whitney Morgan, owner of Collage. These eco-friendly stainless steel bottles keep liquids hot for 12 hours or cold for 24 hours. The large ones can hold a whole bottle of wine, Morgan said. S'well also supports charities that help to protect the environment. The 17-ounce bottle costs $37 and the 25-ounce one costs $49. "They're great gifts for both men and women," Morgan said.
Custom-made gift baskets: This Little Light of Mine will be offering custom-made gift baskets for the one you love, said Carey DuRand, who runs the business with Michelle Richardson. The baskets can include candles, custom-scented bath and body products, and jewelry and accessories or even gift certificates. The business, which is in Central Market, offers more than 150 scents, such as love spell, cocoa therapy,and white tea and ginger, DuRand said. Date night baskets also can be created. Prices range from $25 to $100 and include a free $15 upgrade per basket. Ten percent of all sales go to charity. Call 717-891-5100 to order a basket.
Satisfy that sweet tooth: Heart-shaped doughnuts will be available from Glazin' for Valentine's Day, said Robert Burrito, owner of the business. Pair that with a brew, such as Joe Coffee Porter or Sweet Baby Jesus (a chocolate and peanut butter porter), and you have yourself a date. The doughnuts cost $2.50 a piece and a six pack of beer costs $15.
Say it with industrial flowers: Not looking to buy real flowers? How about an industrial floral arrangement in a watering can? I-ron--ic has one for $163.
How about a necklace?: These necklaces, inspired by ships, are from In All The Land and were handcrafted by Heidi Leitzke. The cost is $54 for the bottom necklace and $22 for the top one, said Alexandra Dwyer, owner and operator of Redeux Marketplace.
