See Deer Tick in concert
This rock band – once known for its raucous live shows – will bring an acoustic show to Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center as part of the venue's CapLive series at 8 p.m. Friday. The show tops our list of regional concerts to see in March. Tickets are $23. Click here for more info.
Stargaze with family or a date
Take advantage of this beautiful March weather and go stargazing with your family or your date. A public starwatch is scheduled for 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday at John C. Rudy Park in East Manchester Township. Telescopes will be provided, or you can bring your own.
Go to York's Saint Patrick's Day Parade
Dig your green out of the closet and head downtown for York's 33rd annual Saint Patrick's Day parade. This year's parade steps off at 1 p.m. Saturday and features about 90 entries. If you go, be sure to check out the pre-parade entertainment, which includes performances by Irish dancers and musicians. Watch a breakdance battle
Not into Irish dancing? Head to New Grounds Roasting Company Saturday for a completely different dance scene. York breakdancer Dandre Deshields has organized an all-ages, all-styles dance battle at the coffee house, which kicks off at 1:30 p.m. Dancers will perform a showcase for the judges before going head-to-head with the competition in the battle rounds. Winners could walk away with $100, $200 or $500 grand prizes.
See a modern dance performance
Still haven't had enough dance? Check out Ailey II, a universally renowned dance company, which will perform the last show of its tour at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center on Sunday. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $37 to $48.
Listen to Houston's Apollo Chamber Players
This string quartet is redefining what it means to play in an ensemble. Watch as they mix classical technique with folk music influences at their live show at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. John Episcopal Church. The best part? It's free.
